Emily Ratajkowski is an American model who first gained fame for appearing in the 2013 music video “Blurred Lines” with Robin Thicke. She started acting at a young age but went into modeling when she was only 14 years old and has since worked in the industry primarily in Los Angeles and New York City. Emily made her first appearance in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue in 2014. The brunette has covered American GQ, Allure, Cosmopolitan, Glamour, InStyle, and other notable magazines throughout her career. She even gave up her degree at UCLA to take modeling full time.

The famous model also took up small acting parts in her teens, like in iCarly as Gibby’s girlfriend. Her acting career has taken a step for the better in recent years, with more prominent roles in We Are Your Friends, Gone Girl, and Lying and Stealing. According to IMDB, she’s starred in over 18 titles throughout her career. That being said, Emily’s acting jobs have lessened due to her political views.
Emily is very vocal about her views on feminism and equal rights. She mentioned losing out on jobs and acting roles due to having a large bust. The model also supports Planned Parenthood, Black Lives Matter, and the #MeToo movement. The actress sticks her neck out to speak on her beliefs, a move that like-minded, passionate individuals respect.
In 2017, Emily launched a swimsuit line called Inamorata. On it’s about section, the brand’s site states: “Inspired by the Southern California beach town she grew up in, model, actress, feminist, and designer Emily Ratajkowski brings you INAMORATA WOMAN–a collection rife with easy, body-conscious essentials for the unexpected nature of the city.”
That same year she filmed three movies, Welcome Home, I Feel Pretty, and Cruise. 2018 marked her first major beauty campaign — she became the face of haircare brand Kérastase. Renowned photographer duo Inez & Vinoodh captured the advertisement. She would also work with the pair again in 2021 for a V Magazine cover story.
In 2019, The model soon married Sebastian Bear-McClard, a successful film producer, just a few weeks into dating. In September 2022, Emily filed from divorce from Bear-McClard. Two years into their marriage, Emily and Sebastian conceived their firstborn, Sylvester Apollo Bear. The child was born back on March 8th, 2021, and has since been a popular model on Emily’s own Instagram account. The couple refuses to talk about the baby’s gender, believing that their child will choose on his or her own at 18 years old.
The model continues to remain vocally strong about her opinions on feminism and equality. Her messages focus away from the idea of feminism being conservative and strongly promotes choice for everyone. She even recently got viral after writing out an essay about reclaiming her image on The Cut. The actress released her book called My Body in 2021. In 2023, she fronted campaigns for Versace, the Viktor & Rolf Flowerbomb perfume, Tory Burch, and more leading brands.
